This video, from Sooke resident Derek Lewers, was posted on Twitter on the evening of March 28, following a day of particularly bad traffic jams (a near constant for the past month or so in Sooke). Traffic on Sooke Road was at a standstill periodically throughout the day as paving at the Sooke Rd and River Road intersections nears completion. The last day, according to the signage, is March 30.
“This is what Sooke Rd traffic looks like at 4:30pm when @TranBC contractors don’t pave at night,” reads his tweet. “It’s been a solid week of this. Line starts at Sooke River Rd.”

Will the improvements be worth it? And given that night paving increases the costs significantly, would you have preferred night paving (and a higher tax bill), or keep it at day paving?
