The following was posted by the Sooke Fire Rescue Service on their public Facebook page, and is being shared here to reach the (brilliant) readership who live beyond the confines of social media!
“This past weekend the members of the 2019 Sooke and Metchosin Fire Department Joint Recruit Class successfully completed their final evaluations for the Justice Institute of British Columbia: JIBC Interior Firefighter Program.
“This dedicated group are now pager-carrying probationary members.
“The 2019 Recruit Class completed 150 hours of hands on practical training, and an additional 75 hours of theoretical study at home. They will soon begin the process to complete the Full Service Firefighter Program, and achieve the NFPA 1001 Level 2 Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications.
“Sooke Fire Rescue is grateful for the three members from Sooke and we are looking forward to continuing to shape them into high quality firefighters that we can all continue to be proud of. Welcome Alex, Heather, and Travis!”
