The following wind warning was issued for Greater Victoria. Winds are expected to affect coastal sections on the Island today, with strong bursts of wind occurring near the Juan de Fuca Strait this evening. It’s also going to be wet.

Wind warning in effect for:
- Greater Victoria
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.
[sam id=”15″ codes=”true”]Southeast winds near 70 km/h will persist over exposed coastal sections today as a strong Pacific frontal system approaches the coast. The strong southeast winds will ease late this afternoon as the system moves to the east. However, a strong burst of west winds near 70 km/h will occur near Juan De Fuca Strait this evening as a low crosses northwest Washington.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
