Yes, press people! You read that correctly. WebMax was going to write a run-of-the-mill formal press release, but frankly this is such a big deal that they’re way too excited for any of that.
The fact that Webmax has been nominated means that someone out there (if you must know, Sherry Thomson from the Sooke Shelter Society) thought that they were totally amazing to be deserving of this super-cool accolade. And given that they are so stoking-ley grateful, Webmax just wanted to tell everyone they know and frankly, everyone they don’t.
Over the past five years, they’ve helped well over 150 Canadian micro and small businesses, as well as non-profits, providing them with website designs and development, e-commerce, hosting, search engine and online marketing – all totally free. These companies have helped additional businesses in need and in turn, they’ve assisted others too. Paying it forward.
It’s how they roll.
Susan Jones, co-founder of WebMax.co said: “2020 has been really challenging for so many, us included, but our success over recent years has meant that we’re in the fortunate position to give back to our community. Providing a digital start for micro and small businesses has proved invaluable and we’re really pleased to be a part of that. Being nominated for this award is humbling and adds a glow to the time and effort we put into our volunteer work. If you’re reading this and are in need of such help, just get in touch and we’ll do everything in our power to give you a helping hand.”
Building a vibrant online community really helps local brick-and-mortar firms generate more business buzz and stay resilient through tough times. So, the volunteer work Webmax does for communities across Canada is their way of attempting to find solutions to local problems and make a positive difference. The incredible feedback they’ve received is testament that it works.
“WebMax totally transformed our visibility.” Said Sherry Thomson, founder of the Sooke Shelter Society. “We provided services to the local homeless community but really struggled to get the word out. As a non-profit, we needed an online presence but didn’t have the resources to make it happen. Then Susan stepped in and WOW! She created a platform that gives us the credibility we want, but more importantly raises awareness of the critical values of stable housing that’s so needed in the Greater Sooke Area.” https://www.sookeshelter.org/
Webmax is a creative website company based in Sooke, Victoria, Vancouver Island BC. Starting up just five years ago, the company has served hundreds of clients across Canada, providing them with affordable custom-made websites, branding, design and SEO solutions.
WebMax recently worked with the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Sooke Chamber of Commerce to identify micro and small businesses who needed a digital start with an online store platform when Covid threatened to close their retail outlets. The free online store platform for each business for the entire year of 2020, countless hours of free online training, web solutions and even payment holidays for long-standing WebMax clients has enabled many to get back on track and help towards their survival. The Sooke Shelter Society was provided web services years prior Covid-19. See https://betterbuyportalberni.ca/ and https://betterbuysooke.ca/
