The West Shore RCMP Drug Unit has a mandate to target drug dealers and drug trafficking in the West Shore. In their most recent investigation, the unit received tips from the public regarding suspicious activity taking place at a residence in Langford.
The West Shore RCMP Drug Unit used a variety of investigative techniques to gather evidence, including teaming up with the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit to conduct covert surveillance on the home and the suspects.
The Drug Unit identified two males, ages 24 and 39 years old, who were suspected of being drug dealers in the West Shore.
On November 22nd, 2019, the Drug Unit executed two search warrants in Langford, one for a home and another for a vehicle and arrested the two male suspects for drug trafficking.
“The information we received from concerned citizens directly assisted us in this investigation,” said Cst. Pollock of the West Shore RCMP Drug Unit. “The investigation was a success and we seized trafficking quantities of cocaine that was packaged and ready to be sold along with approximately $2000 in cash. We also seized a conducted energy weapon as well as the vehicle that was being used to deliver drugs.”
