Westshore police investigate possible child abduction attempt
The following is an FYI. Given that we are just 25 minutes away, SPN is sharing the following notification from the Westshore RCMP. The incident occurred one week ago, and this information was released today.

Police investigate possible attempted abduction

West Shore RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is currently investigating a case of an attempted possible child abduction that occurred on November 18, 2015 in Langford.
At around 2:50 pm that day, a 10 year old female elementary school student was walking on Rainville Rd when a suspicious man, driving a white panel van approached her, asking her to get in the van. The student was able to run away quickly and advise her family. Police were subsequently notified.

- 30 years old
- Black greasy hair
- Goatee
- Navy blue shirt
- Grey/black skate shoes with white soles
- Grey jeans jeans
The vehicle is described as:
- White older panel van with no side or rear windows
- Dirty with scratches on the side
- Garbage in the passenger side wheel well.
We are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this van or suspect in that area
, states Cst. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the West Shore RCMP Detachment. While no other cases were reported, we encourage the public to report any suspicious activity to police right away
