A forest fire alert was issued by the Metchosin and Langford fire stations over the weekend. The BC Wildfire active fires website is showing that there is still an active fire at Veitch Creek, which is a CRD watershed, at 1.8 ha. The suspected cause is person.
There have been no updates from any of the involved fire stations, and the CRD’s alerts page is also without a statement. However, the BCWildfire was showing, as of June 18, 2018 (morning), that the fire was “active.”

Brush fire in the CRD water shed. CRD and BC Forest service on scene dealing with the fire. Smoke is drifting towards Westhill area.
