Mick Rhodes is an advocate for saving the victims recoverable items from the apartment.
[sam id=”15″ codes=”true”]Mick URGENTLY needs to meet with each tenant to make a list of items they wish to save. Unfortunately, we have no direct means of reaching them all.
Please share, tell people, and spread the word that there is HOPE in this after all! THE FOLLOWING IS FROM MICK RHODES:
I am attempting to contact everyone affected by the fire as soon as possible to meet with them and draw up a comprehensive list of items they may wish to retrieve from Grant Manor. It is urgent that that I have this information so I can produce a well thought out itinerary to be vetted by those people (asbestos removal experts; the owner of Grant Manor and their Insurance company; Sooke Fire Department) making the decisions. They may phone or email me and arrange a meeting or provide a phone number where I can reach them.
Also, if anyone has any information from other sources where I might find them as it may be difficult to reach some by phone. I have contacted Christine; the Red Cross rep and informed her and she will assist with locating them.
All information will be held in strict confidentiality and I will contact those affected with periodic updates. Here is an outline of what I need to know:
- Tenant needs to provide a comprehensive list of items to be removed (this I assume would be description of item plus approximate size and weight)
- Tenant needs to describe where it can be found ie. bedroom bureau, lower drawer, south facing wall
- All items will be triple bagged and only two bags with a total weight of five kilograms can be removed at a time
